"A Cittaslow Sonoma Valley Event" Program

We're developing the criteria and program for co-branding events with businesses and nonprofits that are distinctive in providing "sustainable well-being" to Sonoma Valley residents. Criteria will include if the event accepts Sonoma's local currency, if the event embraces sustainable practices, and if the event enhances the Sonoma Valley community.

Cittaslow Sonoma Valley Dinners

The best way to support local food production is to enjoy locally produced food - with others! Cittaslow Sonoma Valley will be announcing Cittaslow SV dinner events in partnership with other organizations throughout the year - Arbor Day, Plein Air, Sonoma Valley Classical Music events, Grange Sonoma Valley. Stay tuned!

Educational Outreach Programs

Pollenator Pals was just the beginning. Cittaslow Sonoma Valley will create and support other educational outreach programs in partnership with the educational community in Sonoma Valley.

Sonoma Valley Arbor Week

Cittaslow Sonoma Valley supports Sonoma Valley Arbor Week in Sonoma by holding a "Slow Soup Supper," providing educational outreach, celebrating Luther Burbank, participating in the City's tree planting event, and providing promotional publicity as needed.

Cittaslow Sonoma Valley is developing Sonoma Valley's own currency called "Sonoma Jacks." We are forming the Steering Committee for this effort and will announce it in Fall 2011. Net proceeds from use of the currency and sale of proof sets will go to the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Special Editions will fund their own designated causes.
